New York State Encourages Banks to Make Cybersecurity Key Part of Risk Management Strategy

New York state is updating its IT examination procedures for banks to specifically focus on cybersecurity. An internal state Department of Financial Services (DFS) memo describes a comprehensive set of 12 new questions and 11 new topics which financial institutions operating on state charters or licenses will have to address for regulatory approval.
